Above is the second piece for my creative coding assignment, named The Golden Sunset. With the theme of contrast in mind I created this animated piece which displays a moving sun with golden sun rays shining out from it.The rather hypnotising effect of the sunrays were made through the application of the moire pattern. The different stroke weights and colours of the hundreds of ellipses being drawn combined with the increment of the x position of the ellipses were able to create the effect of a sunset moving across the screen with golden rays of light being released from it. I decided to apply the theme of contrast into the colour scheme of the art piece by using dark blue for the background whist using yellow for the sunrays and red for the sun. This allowed the focus of the piece to be the sun with its golden sunrays. The use of if statements enabled me to animate the sketch whereas the use of for loops allowed me to change the weightage and colour of the different ellipses.
